The nature of things

I don't know anything. If I'm to be poetic about it, I can compare myself to a marionette whose strings are pulled by multiple and different people each day and I flail all over the place. Apparently, I need more knowledge. What of this dream: take the time and learn, truly learn, the science of cellular biology, what goes on inside us on molecular level. Where should I start?
